Rapid Adventures is opening a new chapter. Our team is launching Maafushi Adventures (maafushiadventures.com), a new adventure company based on Maafushi Island in the Maldives’ Kaafu Atoll.
Since 2016, we have built Rapid Adventures around one idea: adventure should be safe, run by locals, and good for the communities it passes through. That approach has taken more than 25,000 adventurers rafting in Kitulgala, trekking the Knuckles range and exploring village life in Meemure. Maafushi Adventures takes the same idea to one of the Indian Ocean’s best-known local islands.
Why Maafushi
Maafushi was one of the first inhabited islands in the Maldives to open up to guesthouse tourism, and it has become a base for travellers who want the Maldives without the private-resort price tag. What the island didn’t have was a dedicated adventure operator. We set up Maafushi Adventures to fill that gap.

Half-day and full-day tours across the atoll
Multi-day adventure packages for travellers who want more than a day trip
Accommodation bookings and ferry transfers between Velana International Airport, Malé and Maafushi are coming next. Travellers will be able to plan the whole trip in one place.
Sri Lanka + Maldives in one trip
The two destinations are about an hour apart by air, and many travellers already combine them. With Rapid Adventures in Sri Lanka and Maafushi Adventures in the Maldives, adventurers can now go from white-water rapids in Kitulgala to the reefs of Kaafu Atoll with one team handling both.
