We have the perfect solution to your need for more. Our Advanced Canyoning experience takes place in Mannakethi Ella at Kitulgala. After taking the highway from Kitulgala over a bridge to Malwatte to reach the starting point of our trek on foot. You will have to trek up the mountain above the Girankitha-Oya reservoir for around 3 km where you will reach a footpath. After another 400m trek into the wild you will reach Mannakethi Ella.

Mannakethi Ella has a height of 200 ft (60m). The name Mannakethi was given because people used to wash their tools in this waterfall. “Manna” means knives and “Kethi” means hatchets. The source of this fall is the Girankitha-Oya reservoir that is served in turn by the western slopes of the Unagula Mountain. Mannakethi Ella flows down to meet and nourish the Kelani River.

Mannakethi Ella is a famous location for confidence jumping, water sliding, and now, people in this village have also started to do zip lining. Mannakethi Ella has  more advanced confidence jumps and waterslides than our basic experience package at Kataran-Oya. The height of the confidence jump in Mannakethi Ella is around 40ft whereas the one at Kataran-Oya has a height of only around 15ft. The Waterslides here are also more advanced and considerably longer than at Kataran-Oya. This is a place for the daring and brave and will push you to your limits.

Downhill mountain biking is one of the most extreme and exciting styles of mountain biking. While this extreme sport is enjoyed at a challenging level by professionals, we have created this experience to be enjoyed by anyone who can ride. 

Our adventure takes place on the infamous Sri Lanka Gravity Trail. It is a hiking trail that follows the Pekoe Trail, a 300-kilometer long-distance walking route through the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. The Gravity Trail is a more challenging and adventurous version of the Pekoe Trail, as it involves downhill mountain biking, zip-lining, and abseiling along the way. It is also one of the lowest gravity regions in the world, hence the name. 

The trail that we will be following is of an international standard and is a culmination of the natural trail with some features added on for safety and adherence to parameters. It is the only downhill track in Sri Lanka. 

Bikers will enjoy freewheeling down this track as pedaling is at a minimum. There’s no need to be anxious as our experts are on hand to provide you with instructions on everything you need to know about downhill mountain biking. The bikes and safety equipment will be provided by us as part of the package.

Turn a normal walk in the jungle into something exciting by joining us in an exploration of the Belilena caves.

The Belilena caves have significant archaeological value in Sri Lanka. They have been named as an Archaeological Reserve by the Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka as evidence of prehistoric human presence was found within them. They are located approximately 8 km away from the main town of Kitulgala and offer a delightful experience of nature and history combined. 

The caves are home to the remains of Balangoda Man, an early ancestor of Sri Lanka’s indigenous people, from about 32,000 years ago. You can also admire various cultural and biological artifacts, such as stone tools, bone tools, fire traces, animal bones, and plant remains. 

Our journey takes us through a lush green rainforest where we can enjoy the beauty of nature far away from the sounds of the modern world. To enter the cave we will need to descend on a rope ladder as it is 2000m below sea level and this is the start of our adventure. Even more interestingly, located a short distance from the mouth of the cave is a lake, parts of the cave system which lay beyond this lake remain a mystery as they are yet to be explored.

For the experienced kayaker, the Lower Kelani offers seven Class II and III rapids, each with its own distinct technical challenge. The stretch is approximately 6 1/2 kilometers, and this run will keep your attention on the next horizon line while also giving ample time to surf a few waves. 

Ideal times are from May to December, although there are no “bad” times. The river is dam controlled, therefore water levels can be low in April, but can also be quite high during the monsoon season.
