No experience is necessary as a guide is with you all the time and can do most of the paddling if you prefer. Loads of photos opportunities as there is a huge amount of wildlife- elephants, especially tuskers, do go to the water in the dry season, but we were not there at that time so none were spotted. You may get wet so wear appropriate clothing! Life jackets are provided and must be worn. We arrived around 2 PM and were warmly welcomed with a fresh drink. They gave us a brief overview of the tour and then took us on a safari jeep ride around Kalawewa. After a helpful introduction to kayaking, we set off for a 4–5 km ride. Along the way, you can spot beautiful birds, fish, trees, and sometimes elephants. Unfortunately, we didn’t see any elephants, but the crew will advise you on the best times to spot them. Fantastic crew and an unforgettable experience. Don’t worry about the cost—it’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!
