Wangedigala and Wangedigala mountain is located at a beautiful village called Kalupahana. The name Wangedigala is the Sinhala (Language) name for “Pestle”. It is given the name Wangedigala (Pestle) because the top of the mountain looks like a Pestle. Wangedigala and Wangedigala Mountain are two different peaks where most locals and as well as Tourist hikers consider as the same peak. Wangedigala is a rock platform on the left side of the mountain that resembles a stage area and offers exquisite view of the surrounding area.

Hiking through the Pine forest of Wangedigala, hikers will experience the beauty of mountain ranges around them and breathtaking sceneries of Bambarakanda Falls and Lanka Falls which are falling from the neighbor mountain of Wangedigala. Hikers will get to cross Bambarakanda Falls from a rope bridge which will also be an exciting experience.

While enjoying the terrains of mountain Wangedigala, hikers will require to climb on steep mountain slopes covered with Pine needles. Extra care should be exercised as this can become slippery when dry.

    – Picking leaves
    – Using polythene and plastics
    – Lighting unsafe campfires
    – Dumping garage or leftovers (you may carry a garbage bag to put in any personal garbage if any may be there)
  • Make sure to have your health insurance valid in Sri Lanka.
  • You are strictly asked to obey the guides instructions while on activity.
  • While you’re actively involved in a activity or hike we will not be responsible for any issue that’s comes up with smart phones or any other personal devices. So it is recommended to keep them inside your backpack or anywhere safe.
  • As the name suggests we offer adventurous tours hence, we would like to remind you not to expect any luxurious accommodation or anything of that sort.
  • Do not take alcohol before activities.
  • Please disclose before participating, if you are suffering from heart problem, epilepsy or any other disease.
  • When hiking please carry a small backpack and a small water bottle to make the the home easier for you.
  • If you have any bigger bags you are most welcome to leave them with us before you depart for the hike. We will keep it safe for you.
  • Do carry a Dettol antiseptic bottle for any leech attacks.
  • Please wear suitable clothing, shoes and personal sleeping essentials while hiking for your own comfort.
  • When traveling at Kalupahana it is strictly forbidden to disturb the local folks who are doing their daily routine work.
  • Transport to Babarakanda is costed separately and it is mentioned in the price guide. Should you require and information on the transport please refer the price guide.

Booking & Payment Terms

  • Every addition except for the items mentioned in the package inclusions will be priced separately.
  • Filling up the booking form online will not guarantee you a confirmed booking. Once the booking form is submitted, an agent will review and reply with the instructions on how to get your booking confirmed.
  • Reservations will be placed in the order of advance payment dates. To guarantee your booking on your requested date, we recommend you to pay the advance payment as soon as possible.
  • Prior to receiving the booking confirmation you will be asked to make an advance payment of 30% of the total package value and before starting the tour the rest of the payment must be paid in full.
  • Each and every payment will be issued an invoice.
